Sandals of course associate well with the sun kissed thoughts that come to mind when thinking of the beach and as I find myself seeking the tranquil peacefulness that the sound of the waves can evoke, pretty flat sandals are on my mind. Although anyone who knows me might know i can innately be high on energy, and seek an adrenaline, I am realizing that while I do have a decent amount of physical strength and discipline which I will affirm is true therapy and essential to mental well being, I am seeking a way to develop a calm side. Finding it frustrating to propel forward and work towards my aspirations or rather materialize my goals and become comfortable with what i really want, I need to find a way to focus.  Recently I often seem to quote the term, "Deep Breathe......." when expressing my state of mind and frustration with myself or daily events per say.

I find a release in expressing my state of mind while featuring shoes I believe to be sexy with a feel good aura that truly add shine to your look regardless of the occasion or where you are. Quite often I note that the amazing heels I choose will give us a lift and help you "stand tall". I am still adamant about this! Although at this moment, maybe I'm seeking a sense of comfort and want to zone in on feeling sexy without needing that so-called lift. Rather imagine how it feels to walk barefoot on the beach or even to get home at night and take off your heels and put on a pair of slippers. Let me note that I secretly love the fact that a man I adore was awestruck and couldn't help but to tell me how great I looked just wearing my red slippers  and jeans on a Sunday. (I am attached to these Okabashi's by the way) I love to think I'm sexy in heels or my precious red slippers!

 Maybe the origination of my thoughts here is that while I can actually find peace at times in releasing energy whether running or even dancing on those random occasions, I  am striving to be more at ease and less tense when the tempo is moving at a slower rate and I must accept that there are not many right or wrong answers but making the best use of the situation I am in and moving forward in the smartest way with what I do have and those qualities which I have learned to be my strengths so far.

I know that for those who read this, you may be thinking I am a bit crazy and well i am a little but I love to relate shoes to a state of mind!    

Let's take a deep breathe and find comfort in who we are in pretty but tranquil soles! 

Sex and Soles! Sex and the City 2

Sex and the City 2 is finally here. I am surely looking forward to seeing it with the fabulous ShoeSmitten tomorrow.  I think we might need to have a cosmo beforehand!

In anticipation of the movie, I have enjoyed perusing the looks of the chic and glamorous wardrobe we all look forward to admiring. From the 80's flashback to the Arabian inspired garb, sophisticated and sometimes daring style to the glamorous gowns worn by all four ladies at the premier on Monday night, we all wish we could get our hands in each of their fantastical closets. Oh and I hear they get to keep many of the pieces they wear!

Below are a few of my favorite looks featuring fabulous heels that radiate from the screen and on the red carpet! It may not be a coincidence that my picks are worn by Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristen Davis. As I had noted before, I find myself with a little bit of Carrie and Charlotte's persona combined.

These Enzlo Angiolini Meryann pumps at Nordstrom are a sexy and sophisticated silver peep toe which will make you shine on any given evening.

SJP wears Nicholas Kirkwood navy suede platforms with lattice detail at the Premier after party on Monday night.

 

A similar style above with the accentuated lace up detail, I was actually most drawn to these Nicholas Kirkwood teal suede sandal with python skin panels and silver metal caps. Both styles are fun, vibrant and a bit bold! A common characteristic of the ShoeGal's persona.




These Sigerson Morrison braided cage sandals are another favorite of mine with the lattice detail and high back for support.

I'll admit I have not yet been too familiar with Brian Atwood's designs but am now a big fan. These Brian Atwood leather and embroidered silk sandals are truly captivating to me! I would love to stand tall in these.

Sex and the City 2 is almost here! Win tickets for to the SATC Tour!

I was delighted to be invited to join the Sex and the City Hotspots tour on behalf of On Location Tours this weekend. Although I am in NYC all the time, not only had I not been to some of the locations on the tour but watching scenes from the show and movie throughout with a great group of ladies was a blast! Everyone was so friendly and excited to be there.

I must share that in conjunction with the release of SEX and the CITY 2 on May 27th, On Location Tours will be having a Sex and the City Movie Package for opening night which includes the hotspots tour, dinner, tickets to the movie and admission to Marquee, a great nightclub (I will mention that I had a really fun night there once :) A great idea for those birthday ladies and bachelorettes!

Looking down upon the grand dining room where the dinner scene for the rehearsal dinner the night before Carrie and Big's wedding disaster in the movie was filmed. My feel is that it looks like a great place to go for a romantic evening even with the crowd that it draws. A must on my list!

At Intermix on Bleeker Street right before we all met for delicious cupcakes from Magnolias in the park. I will note that I actually have a love for straw hats. This is similar to a tan hat I have worn on the beach but this green is my favorite color!

Ofcourse I also had to snap a shot of these fun Sam Edelman wedges. Fun and a great casual but high sandal for the city or beach!

At Onieals aka "Scout" the location on Grand Street where scenes for Aiden and Steves bar were filmed. Many ladies on the tour enjoyed a cosmo toward the end of the evening at this stop. I would go back here with friends. Nice relaxing environment. Great crowd. (Not to mention ladies.... our fabulous tour guide could not help but share that there is a nice crowd of mostly men here on Fridays!) Do you need to be convinced?!

We had a great time on Saturday! Must I add that I was wearing my favorite high heel sandals above. I just had to get a photo. Love walking in them. I would say they are a Carrie heel but then I feel I have a little bit of every character in me while mainly Charlotte and Carrie mixed together.

I’ve been feeling a little crazy lately. Alright maybe that’s just me on a regular basis but honestly more so than normal. There is this part of me that wants to let out my inner sensual self! Maybe it’s the dark and handsome man who has driving me a little off wall. Alright... more than a little!!! I manage to be good while deep down I’m on fire!  Hence, my selection of fabulous heels may somewhat represent that animal inside of me wanting to come out. 

I often use the term fierce as I believe an amazing heel is one that suits a woman’s individual style and makes her feel sexy but also adds that sense of strength on any given day. There have sure been some days recently when my mental state has been bewildered but an element of prowess and strength manages to emerge throughout the ups and downs and walking with my head up high in my favorite heels sure does play a part! (I seem to choose two or 3 pairs and wear them all the time.) They can represent a woman's character but also uplift your spirit. Ladies..... ! Let's just admit that you catch yourself strutting. Yes. Don't lie. Work it. No shame!

Maybe, what I often intend to convey is that being so particular about a shoe resonates with my tendency to use shoes as a mode of symbolism. A shoe's appearance and not only how it looks on you but how you wear them can represent a personality or state of mind. For example, although I found it humorous that in The Proposal, Sandra Bullock waltzed around (sometimes with difficulty) in her classic black Louboutins, she did have emotions and a softer side, let out a cry when behind closed doors but wanted to appear in control and in charge in front of those who she wanted to respect her. No... this is not the same exact scenario that has been plaguing me (although I am adamant about that a sophisticated, sexy and tasteful heel can do wonders to how a woman is perceived) but different events or even times in our life can compel us to find comfort in a heel that exudes how we are feeling or rather want to feel and project that on the outside. 

My inspiration here is a feeling of energy and soul that has ignited. 

I spotted these Jimmy Choo Zoom sandals at Gito in Englewood, NJ and had to admire them! Silver studs and stitching provide a rough element while the colors meld together with brown for a subdued feel. These sandals speak for themselves! Exotic and sexy for sure....  LOVE this heel!!!!!

Tory Burch Stud High Heel Sandals

Classy rocker chic with these Tory Burch gold studded  high heel sandals. I am a big fan of the platform sole and narrow heel.

Amidst the fire inside me leading my imagination to go wild with dreamy thoughts envisioning my lust and passion to materialize while still holding onto frustration and confusion, I have found myself increasing momentum running in my NIKES and doing more push ups than I thought I could. Oh and I must note, my new found desire for one straight up martini with olives and chocolate cake to follow (ok that was only once...) deciding some moments or days call for no nonsense cocktails whether needing to decompress and put that pen to paper or enjoying genuine laughs with a friend is priceless!

All the rollercoaster emotions aside, I found myself wearing my heels dancing in the kitchen to Shakira's "Why Wait" the other day. Oh... did it sure feel like a good crazy!

So I must dedicate my inspiration to Shakira. Let out that Wild Side or "She Wolf" within! These heels are made for dancing!

While Earth Day has passed, I have been continuing to learn more about emerging eco-friendly lines and am intrigued by the innovation taking place in the shoe world. Although it is common thought to picture an amazing shoe as one to be made of fine soft leather, (which I will not deny to lust over) the reality is that fashionable, well designed shoes can be produced without animal by products and with an effort to lessen the harm to the environment.  I am not here to say that we must stop and never wear anything that is made with animal materials as that is not my approach and unrealistic as well but I think that it is time that we start to learn about the options we have while implementing pieces into our wardrobe which not only make us stand tall and feel sexy but leave us feeling better about how our purchases affect the earth.

Fun and a great alternative to heels when those soles are tired! 

One of my newly discovered finds was NEUAURA animal friendly footwear which focuses on concern for the environment and the welfare of animals. The Vegan footwear line does not only have fun heels and flats alike but is affordable as well.  Neuaura manufactures in Brazil in a factory notably awarded with a Green Seal for recognition of compliance with environmental laws and devotion to recyclable materials, minimizing toxic chemicals and protecting native endangered species.

Another notable, unique and creative vegan shoe line is olsen Haus which emphasizes their eco-green philosophy. Here are two of my favorite styles. Surely sexy with a modern feel!

Rebecca Mink Shoes - Green Soles Can Surely be Sexy!

There are many different ways we can recognize Earth Month and well I found it my duty to find fabulous heels that make you feel gorgeous but advocate treating our planet well.

Rebecca Mink's line of Italian made vegan shoes are a true inspiration. I will admit, although Mink's line can be spotted on celebrities including Daryl Hannah or at the Victorias Secret Fashion Show, I was not yet familiar with MINK until recently perusing Coco Eco Mag. It was encouraging to not only learn of what her line is today but how she began with a clear mission to partner with an artisan designer to turn her vision into reality. Although many did not have confidence in the collaboration, she was persistent and found an Italian designer, Marco Gambassi to work magic. Determination resulted in eco-friendly shoes that are glamorous, truly sexy and fun while crafted using materials such as wood, rubber, cork and organic fabrics. Each shoe design in her current collection is named after an animal with the texture, pattern and type of heel resonating with the character and personality we tend to associate them with.

Below:  My favorite selections from Mink's collection.  I felt it suiting to display various styles as I enjoy the selection of more formal pumps,to edgy lace up knee high boots, T-Straps and more.

Armadillo Faux Leather T-Straps with a spiked titanium heel are fierce and unique while also versatile to wear from spring to early fall. Walk on the wild side!

Orangutan Flip Flops are lovely and make me want to be in southern California on the beach!

Black Panther lace up boots with a short heel can be casual or dressed up with a bold attitude!

 MINK shoes let us stand tall and confident with styles suiting any state of mind. As Rebecca Mink states, "My style is giving the customer options and letting them make the choice."

I have found a love for Lanvins and envision experiencing a sense of euphoria while standing tall in a sultry pair. Yes, euphoria: defined as a a feeling of happiness, confidence, or well-being sometimes exaggerated in pathological states as mania. Hmmm quite intense. Maybe it's more a craving of sorts.  As things have been turbulent and confusing to say the least, earlier in the week I couldn't help to blurt out that I was desiring a champagne truffle for a quick euphoria. Sound a little indulgent?! Oh well...... While not a solution to solve that which plagues our state of mind, I can confidently say that such a mini euphoria will put a smile on my face. Not a bad thing! Wouldn't those around me prefer me to be joyous as well!?

Satin, open toe, T-Strap Lanvin braided satin sandals adorned with gold ringlets are soft but classy and bold with a sensual sex appeal.  Below, gold buckled ankle strap black satin pumps are svelte and edgy, with an element of fierceness and power!

Coincidentally my mind has been rampant dreaming of passion and sex. I recently added to my twitter profile @Fabulous_Soles, it is not only the look of a shoe but the feeling it emits. Although fighting a lack of inspiration and fervor, my senses have been piqued by such thoughts and my selections are a reflection of my daydreaming.

The secret dreamer I am, these divine red suede Lanvin mules allude to thoughts of romance mixed with visions of passion that dark and handsome man on my mind. Red lipstick having grown on me, Spanish Red would surely be my choice to wear with a one of a kind red sole!

Cream Patent Leather Sandals reminiscent of my previous post, Almost Naked Soles, these are sleek and edgy with an exposed wooden platform. 

 

Black satin and swarovski embellished, these Lanvin pumps are a bit on the softer side with a black bow but surely fierce and sexy. Glamorous and will leave you feeling more gorgeous!

I'll acknowledge here that I'm sure many may not read such narrative I write along with the images of my finds but I will cherish mixing my love of amazing soles with expressions of the moment. The heels capturing me here emit a sense of fierceness that make me want not only be daring and take charge more in life overall and face the obstacles ahead whether physical or emotional!
